So the question to ask is which tier your item will land in.
Here's the short answer. Coats and Mini Boden: buy now in the US, because 25% beats the 20% tier they most likely land in. Fair Isle knits, dresses and jeans: wait, because those filled the 40% edit last November.
UK shoppers have a simpler call. We found no sitewide offer on Boden's UK homepage today, so wait for Black Friday.

When is the Boden Black Friday sale in 2026?
Black Friday falls on Friday 27 November 2026. Cyber Monday is 30 November.
Boden hasn't announced its 2026 dates yet. The pattern from the last three years points to a clear window, though.
- 2023: the sale opened on Black Friday itself, 24 November, and ended just after Cyber Monday.
- 2024: the US offer was live by Wednesday 27 November and ended 2 December, which was Cyber Monday.
- 2025: it opened about a week early, around 21 November, and ran until Cyber Monday, 1 December.
If 2026 follows 2025, expect the sale to open around Friday 20 November and close on Monday 30 November.
Does Boden start its Black Friday sale early?
It did last year. In 2025 the sale opened a full week before Black Friday, the earliest start we could date. In 2024 the US offer was live by the Wednesday before.
So set a reminder for Thursday 19 November, not Black Friday itself.

Four things stand out.
The two-tier deal is now the format. 2024 and 2025 both split the range into a 40% edit and 20% on the rest. Plan for that again.
Nothing we found went above 40% on full-price stock. The 60% figures were always clearance or sale lines.
Mini Boden used to get less. In 2020, kidswear got 10% while womenswear got 30%. By 2023, kidswear was in the up-to-40% sale.
The sale ends on Cyber Monday, give or take a day. Don't plan to buy on the Tuesday.
What's live on Boden right now (checked 27 October 2026)

The product pages still showed full prices. The 25% comes off when you add the code at checkout.
On the UK site, the homepage showed new-in campaigns and no sitewide code. US sign-ups also get 25% off a first full-price womenswear order, so the welcome offer doesn't beat today's code.
Should you buy a Boden coat now or wait?
Buy now, if you're in the US.
In the 2025 examples we found, the coats sat in the 20% tier. The Borg Duffle Coat went from $399 to $319.20. In the UK, the Raglan Wax Jacket went from £229 to £183.20.
One lighter layer did make the edit: the Clerkenwell Reversible Gilet dropped from £129 to £77.40. So gilets are worth the wait. Heavy coats aren't.
Today the Aylesford Midi Coat is $399. With DUSWD you pay $299.25. If it lands in the 20% tier again, Black Friday costs you $319.20. That's $19.95 more for waiting a month in a coat season.
The risk is that Boden puts coats in the edit this year. Then you'd miss $59.85 of extra savings. Based on 2025, we'd take that bet.
Which Boden pieces hit 40% off on Black Friday?
Knits, dresses and, last year, jeans. In 2025, the 40% edit was built around tartan, Fair Isle knits, dresses and tops. The Mid Rise Relaxed Jeans made it too, down from £99 to £59.40, and so did the Lucille Tulle Midi Dress, £149 to £89.40. Related: Best slip-on shoes.
Fair Isle is the strongest repeat, and the Edie line shows up both years. The Edie Fair Isle Cardigan was 40% off on the US site in 2024, $65 down to $39. In 2025, the Edie Fair Isle Knitted Shirt was 40% off in the UK, £119 down to £71.40.
Today the Edie Fair Isle Sweater is $160. Take 25% now and you pay $120. If it joins the edit, you pay $96. That's $24 for waiting, and Edie pieces made the 40% tier in 2024 and 2025.
Today the High Rise Slim Jeans are $140, or $105 with DUSWD. At 40% they'd be $84.
Wait on these.
Mini Boden on Black Friday: buy now or wait?
Buy now in the US. Today's banner offers 25% off all childrenswear.
None of the 2025 coverage we found named Mini Boden pieces in the 40% edit. Every named example was an adult style. If that holds, most kidswear lands in the 20% everything-else tier, which is worse than today.
Stock is the other reason. Trustpilot reviewers mention items going out of stock and trouble reordering a replacement size. A 25% discount on the size you need beats 20% on whatever's left.
UK parents: no live code showed today, so hold for the sale. In 2020, Mini Boden got only 10% while womenswear got 30%, so check what kidswear gets before you assume it matches. Related: Vertbaudet Black Friday.
How do Boden UK and US differ on Black Friday?
They run as separate shops with their own prices, offers and rules. On 27 October, the US site had 25% off everything and the UK homepage showed no sitewide code.

US shoppers can pay by card, Afterpay, PayPal, Apple Pay or Shop Pay. Two catches: Afterpay and PayPal don't work on orders with pre-order items. Apple Pay doesn't work on items shipped from the UK. Related: Sweaty Betty Black Friday.
How to clear the free delivery line
In the UK, a £71.40 Fair Isle shirt at 40% off clears the £50 free delivery line on its own. Under £50 you pay £3.95, which wipes out nearly all of a 20% saving on a £20 item. Add it to a bigger basket instead.
In the US, the $49 line held during the last two Black Friday sales. At 20% off, any item with a full price of $62 or more clears it alone.
Can you return Boden Black Friday buys?
Yes, but the clock depends on where and what you buy.
UK full-price items get 90 days. Sale items get just 14 days. Refunds are for what you paid after discounts, so a 40% off item refunds at 40% off.
US orders get 45 days from receipt, unworn and unwashed with tags attached. Refunds go back to your card in 7 to 10 business days.
Swimwear with the hygiene strip removed and earrings with a broken seal can't go back in either country.
Is the extra discount on Boden sale items worth it?
Only if you're sure about fit. In 2024, the US sale section took an extra 20% off with code S3Z8. Today it's an extra 25%.
Those lines start deep. In late November 2024, Boden UK's sale had Kew bi-stretch trousers down from £85 to £34 and Iris snaffle heeled clogs down from £115 to £46. Good prices. But in the UK, sale items carry the 14-day returns limit, and the US promotions page excludes sale, final sale and clearance from general offers.

The best move today
In the US, split your basket. Buy wool coats and Mini Boden now with DUSWD at 25% off, because last year those pieces sat in the 20% tier. Leave Fair Isle knits, dresses and jeans in your wishlist until the edit drops. If 2026 follows 2025, that's around 20 November.
In the UK, wait. Nothing sitewide is live, and the last two years both delivered 40% off an edit and 20% off the rest.
