When is the StewMac Black Friday sale in 2026?
Black Friday is Friday, November 27, 2026. Cyber Monday is November 30.
StewMac hasn't posted its 2026 dates. Its Black Friday page is live but undated, with an email sign-up for alerts.
Past years give you a rough window:
- 2020: the sale ran through Cyber Monday, with discounts on over 900 items on November 30.
- 2025: a retailer's guide dated November 20 already listed StewMac Black Friday discounts.
- After Black Friday: the year-end tiered sale ended January 3, 2025, and January 5, 2026.
If 2026 follows that pattern, look for deals the week before Thanksgiving and a last push on Cyber Monday.
What time do StewMac sales end?
4:00 PM Eastern, not midnight. That cutoff appeared on StewMac's offers ending January 5, February 6, March 13 and May 8, 2026. In the UK, that's 9:00 PM on November 30.

20% at $150 is StewMac's house offer. It ran in February 2026 and it's back now. Treat it as the floor.
The year-end sale only wins on big carts. Under $500, both recent ones gave 10% or 15%. At $500, January 2026 hit 25%.
Black Friday has been about single items. Both Black Friday rows are product markdowns with no cart minimum reported. That's why waiting suits one tool, not a full cart.
The deepest cart discount wasn't Black Friday at all. It was May 2026: 30% off at $700 for StewMAX members.

Is 20% off today better than waiting?
For most carts, yes. Here's today's offer against the last two year-end sales:

Below $500, today wins by $12.50 to $20. At $500, last winter's sale did $25 better.
Black Friday is the wildcard. One tool could drop further than 20% if 2025 repeats, but that 15% to 50% range came from a retailer guide, not StewMac. And don't count on stacking: StewMac's member-sale terms bar combining with other promotions.
Should you check Amazon for StewMac tools?
Yes, for a single tool. On November 13, 2025, Amazon had StewMac's metric string action gauge at $21.44, down from $36. In July 2026, StewMac items there carried a buy-two, save-20% offer with free shipping from $35.
The trade-off is cover. We found nothing saying the 365-day window or Lifetime Promise extends to Amazon orders. Related: Ninja Black Friday.
What can you return after Black Friday?
Almost anything unused. StewMac's Black Friday page says sale items can come back within 365 days if they're unused and unaltered. The catches:
- Consumables don't come back: sandpaper, finishes, glue, polishes and cleaners.
- A guitar, amp or pedal kit you've started can't be restocked. StewMac offers a gift card or replacement instead.
- Tonewood has to be unworked. No sanding, no cutting.
- You pay return shipping unless you're a StewMAX member.
Refunds land 5 to 7 business days after StewMac receives the item.
Does the Lifetime Promise cover Black Friday buys?
For StewMac-brand parts, yes. If one breaks or wears out, StewMac replaces it. Third-party brands follow their maker's policy, so on a close call, pick the StewMac-brand tool.
Buying a gift? Both the refund policy and the Lifetime Promise cover only the original purchaser. Keep the receipt.
Is StewMAX worth buying before Black Friday?
Not at full price this week. StewMAX costs $49.95 a year for free standard shipping and prepaid US return labels. StewMac gave it away with a $150 order in May 2025 and a $99 order in March 2026.
Add up what you paid StewMac in shipping last year. Under $49.95, skip it. Over, hold out for a free-membership offer. UK readers: the free shipping covers the US and unnamed "applicable countries," so check before paying.
Buying from StewMac in the UK: VAT, shipping and timing
StewMac ships to the UK from the US. The shipping quote you see at checkout leaves out UK taxes and duties. Those are on you.
How much UK VAT will you pay?
Two GOV.UK rules decide it.
- Goods worth £135 or less: the seller usually adds VAT to the price, and most goods pay no customs duty.
- Goods worth more than £135: you pay VAT to the delivery company before you get the parcel. Duty can apply too.
UK VAT is 20%, charged on the goods plus postage plus any duty.
The math, at 1 USD = 0.7512 GBP (the latest dated rate we found, from January 1, 2026): a $220 cart drops to $176 after 20% off. That's about £132, just under the line.
Push the cart to $250 and you pay $200, about £150. Now the carrier wants 20% of £150 plus postage: at least £30 before you see the parcel, plus any handling fee.
Will a Black Friday order reach the UK before Christmas?
Not by airmail, if you're unlucky. StewMac lists three methods:

Those dates leave out packing time. Airmail's worst case is Christmas Day, so pay for Priority on gifts. StewMac warns Express can bring higher customs fees.
Some items can't leave the US. StewMac flags them on the listing.
Is a UK dealer the better buy?
For in-stock tools, often. Bax Music UK carries StewMac items such as the SM3770 Fret Rocker, with free delivery over £50 and a 30-day trial with free returns. You give up the 365-day window but skip the carrier's VAT bill. Related: Boden Black Friday.
What do StewMac customers say about ordering?
On Trustpilot, StewMac has a 4.7 TrustScore from 11,182 reviews, about 84% of them five stars.
Most reviewers praise quick delivery and helpful support. The sale-relevant gripes are narrow: a few orders ran a day late, and Trustpilot's summary flags slow international deliveries.

If you need one tool and your cart is under $150, join StewMac's email list and wait for Black Friday week. In the UK, keep your discounted total under about $176 so the carrier doesn't bill you VAT at the door.
