Fubo is a live TV streaming service. You get cable channels and your local broadcast networks over your internet connection, with no box and no contract, and Fubo’s pitch is sports first. Its comparison page claims 55,000 live sporting events a year and more than 40,000 on-demand titles each month.
Ownership changed in October 2025. Disney combined its Hulu + Live TV business with Fubo and now holds about 70% of the company, while Fubo’s existing management runs both services as separate products. Fubo says it operates in the US, Canada and Spain, plus Molotov in France, and this review covers the US service only.
Two plans matter for most readers: Pro at $88.99 a month and Fubo Sports at $64.99, both from Fubo’s own pages on 29 September 2026. Fubo sells other tiers, Elite and Latino among them, but the pages checked did not show current prices for those, so this Fubo review leaves them out rather than repeat an older figure.
Two households should look elsewhere. If every game you watch airs nationally, you pay $6 a month more than YouTube TV’s main plan for regional coverage you never use, and if you want a week to test the service, Fubo’s trials run 1 to 5 days.
How this Fubo review was put together
- No subscription bought and no trial started. This is a research-based review, not a hands-on test
- Prices come from Fubo’s cost, deals and promos page and its YouTube TV comparison page, both checked 29 September 2026
- Fees, trials and refunds come from Fubo’s help centre; the regional sports fee article is dated 26 August 2025
- Where two Fubo pages disagree, both are shown and the stricter figure is scored
- YouTube TV figures come from YouTube TV’s own plans page, checked the same day
- We may earn a commission when you buy through our links. Commissions never touch scores or rank order
Some YouTube TV claims on this page come from Fubo’s own comparison page, which is Fubo’s marketing about a rival. Those lines say so. Where YouTube TV’s page confirms a number, this review uses YouTube TV’s page.
Price 01 · Pro plan$88.99 a month: Fubo Pro before any fees
Fubo lists Pro at $88.99 a month on both its cost page and its YouTube TV comparison page. That is the recurring price. The discount you see at sign-up applies once.
How big that discount is depends on which Fubo page you read. The comparison page says $25 off your first month. The cost page’s September 2026 deals table says up to $30 off month one of Pro or Elite. On the stricter figure, your first Pro bill is $63.99 and your second is $88.99, a jump of $25 before taxes and before the regional sports fee.
The YouTube TV comparison page offers $25 off the first month of Pro. The cost page offers “up to $30”. Both were live on 29 September 2026. This Fubo review scores against $25, and the checkout screen shows which one applies to you.
Fubo’s cost page also carries its own cable comparison, dated 19 November 2025 and sourced to CableTV.com. It puts the average cable base plan at $74.40, the average broadcast TV fee at $18.37 and a set-top box at $7.43 a month. Added up, that is $100.20, which is Shoptera’s arithmetic on Fubo’s inputs.
On those numbers, Pro undercuts cable by $11.21 a month. Add the maximum regional sports fee and Pro reaches $105.98, which is $5.78 more than Fubo’s own cable average. Fubo’s chart shows $0 in broadcast fees for Fubo and does not include the regional sports fee.
Trustpilot’s review summary for Fubo lists pricing as the most common complaint, with reviewers calling it misleading. Fubo’s replies there say new-customer discounts usually cover the first month only and that the full bill breakdown appears before a trial starts.
Up to $16.99: the regional sports fee on top
Fubo charges a monthly regional sports fee when you live in an area with regional sports networks and your plan includes them. Fubo’s help article says the fee varies by customer, depends on your area, and runs up to $16.99 a month.
You see the amount during sign-up. Existing subscribers find it under Taxes, Fees, and Surcharges on the plan management page. The only way to drop it is to switch to a plan without regional sports programming, which also drops the channels that made Fubo worth paying for.
Over 12 months, the maximum fee adds $203.88, Shoptera’s arithmetic. For a household that picked Fubo for a local team, that cost is unavoidable. For everyone else, it is the strongest reason to check a plan without regional networks first.
The catch in the terms
Sign up through a Roku device and the fee is $16.00 a month regardless of where you live. Web sign-ups in low-fee areas pay less. The help article is dated 26 August 2025, so treat $16.99 as Fubo’s latest published ceiling and confirm the figure on the checkout screen.
Rule 01 · Free trial1 to 5 days: how long a Fubo trial actually runs
Fubo’s trial article says some plans include a trial, that you need a credit or debit card to start one, and that the trial converts to a paid plan automatically. It does not state a length. Checkout shows the exact end date and time before you pay.
Many deal pages still promise seven days. Fubo’s own reply to a Trustpilot reviewer in January 2026 said it does not offer seven-day trials at the moment, that trials run 1 to 5 days, and that it sends a reminder email before the trial ends.
How you cancel changes what you keep. Cancel a trial you started on Fubo’s website and access ends immediately, with no second trial later. Start the trial through Roku and it runs to its end date even after you cancel. Return to Fubo after using a trial before and you pay at once, which Fubo says is shown before payment.
$0 back for a partial month
Fubo’s cancellation policy is simple and strict. Your plan renews every month until you cancel. When you do, service runs to the end of the billing cycle and Fubo refunds nothing for prepaid or partial months.
Most plans carry no cancellation fee. Promotions with a commitment period are the exception, and an early cancellation fee can apply if you leave before the period ends. Read the promo line at checkout before assuming month-to-month.
10 streams at once, against YouTube TV's 3
Fubo’s cost page says every plan includes unlimited cloud DVR and live TV on up to 10 TVs at once. That is Fubo’s clearest technical lead. YouTube TV’s plans page allows three simultaneous streams per membership, with up to six household accounts.
YouTube TV closes part of the gap for a price. Its 4K Plus add-on unlocks unlimited streams on your home network for an extra monthly charge, and the page checked did not print that charge. Streams away from home stay limited on YouTube TV, and Fubo’s 10 apply wherever you watch, according to Fubo’s pages.
For a family with a student away at college and two TVs at home, the difference is real. For a couple sharing one screen, it is irrelevant.
185+ or 200+: the channel count depends on the line you read
Fubo’s YouTube TV comparison page gives Pro 185+ channels in its table and says “Starting at 200+ live channels” in the panel below it. This Fubo review uses 185+. The number that matters more is which of those channels reach your ZIP code, and Fubo asks for it at sign-up for that reason.
Sports depth is the point. The same page lists 50+ regional sports networks, including YES Network and NESN in select markets, plus MLB Network and NHL Network. It marks all of those as missing from YouTube TV. That is Fubo describing a rival, and YouTube TV’s own page does not publish a network-by-network list to check it against.
Fubo’s cost page says ESPN Unlimited and FOX One access come included with most plans. NBC returned to the lineup after a carriage dispute; Fubo’s help centre carries an article on what happened to the NBCUniversal networks, and the comparison page checked on 29 September lists NBC as included.
What the competition does better
YouTube TV’s main plan costs $82.99 a month for 100+ channels, $6 less than Fubo Pro. Its plans page also lists a Sports Plan at $64.99, the same price as Fubo Sports, and says the service reaches over 99.5% of US households. Six household accounts per membership give each person their own recordings and recommendations.
Cable, on Fubo’s own figures, only wins once the regional sports fee is added. Fubo’s average cable bill of $100.20 sits $5.78 below Pro at the maximum fee.
Fubo answers with streams and regional networks. No rival checked here matches 10 simultaneous streams without an add-on, and YouTube TV does not claim the regional sports depth Fubo lists.
Public review data
Fubo’s Trustpilot profile shows a TrustScore of 3.3 from 8,488 reviews, with replies to 48% of negative reviews, checked 29 September 2026. Trustpilot’s own summary says reviewers praise support staff and object to pricing they find misleading. That is public review data, quoted as found, and this Fubo review does not treat it as evidence about any single account.
App store ratings were not checked for this version. They will be added in the next update with dates.
The Fubo brand page collects every Shoptera article on the service, and Fubo vs YouTube TV runs the two services side by side.
